Northrop Grumman has once again leaked what appears to be their concept for the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) manned platform in their latest announcements.
The 15-second video is played in the company’s old hangar setting. In it, we see three Northrop Grumman employees discussing women’s contributions to military aviation history in the company’s “Advanced Aeronautics Hangar.”
Referring to the female crew of the Grand Forks Air Force Base, who in 2014 set the record for the longest unmanned flight of a military aircraft without aerial refueling (34.3 hours), the trio reflects on the possible contributions each one could make to aviation history in the future at the company.
In the video, an E-2D Hawkeye advanced airborne early warning aircraft can be seen on the right, the latest variant of the E-2 currently in use with the Navy. Behind the E-2D, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be the nose of an EA-18G Growler.
What we can only assume is a similar manned tactical jet concept to the NGAD can be seen on the left in the video, showing the nose of what seems to be the same concept in more detail. The new announcement provides an overview of the entire fuselage.
Less noticeable air intakes can also be seen mounted on the top. The design features a very elongated silhouette around the fuselage, as well as a B-2-like beak nose and a single-pilot cockpit.
