The Kalashnikov consortium reported that it manufactured and fully delivered, within the scheduled timeframe, the latest AK-15K 7.62 mm automatic rifles to the customer under the 2025 contract.
The weapons were produced in the “Multicam” color scheme, a pattern adopted this year across the company’s firearms production line with the aim of increasing the camouflage effectiveness of soldiers and their equipment under different combat conditions.
According to the company, the adoption of the Multicam finish is intended to reduce the weapon’s visual signature across multiple scenarios, such as urban environments, vegetated areas, and open terrain, enhancing operational discretion.
International debut at IDEX 2025
The AK-15K was presented for the first time at the international defense and armaments exhibition IDEX 2025, held in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, in February. The model is part of Kalashnikov’s rifle line chambered in 7.62×39 mm, a caliber traditionally associated with robustness and stopping power at short and medium ranges.
7.62×39 caliber and compatible ammunition
Developed for the 7.62×39 mm caliber, the AK-15K is intended for engaging enemy forces and has received technical, ergonomic, and operational improvements to meet the requirements of modern combat. When fired, it can use 7.62 mm cartridges of the 1943 pattern, including steel-core rounds 57-Н-231л and tracer ammunition 57-Т-231П. The standard magazine capacity is 30 rounds.
