The mysterious and controversial item has been claimed by some to show the true face of Jesus after it was allegedly wrapped around him following his crucifixion.
And to mark the anniversary, the website of the Daily Star newspaper, with the help of the Artificial Intelligence platform, Midjourney, realistically recreated the image of what Jesus looked like using the original cloth of 14 feet (4.2 meters) in length as a reference.
The image shows a man with long hair and a beard with his eyes open looking directly out. Part of his body can also be seen.
