Jodie Foster, aged 61, made a surprising revelation during her recent appearance on “The View” this Friday.

Foster shared that during her children’s childhood, she chose to hide her acting career from them. The Oscar-winning actress’s goal was to be seen by her children solely as their mother, not as a celebrity.
“I just didn’t want them to know me in that way,” explained Foster. “I wanted to be known to them as their mother, the person who went out to work and did other things.”

The actress added that she wanted to avoid any confusion about her profession. She recalled taking one of her children to a film set and buying him a plastic tool belt, leading him to believe for a while that she was a construction worker.

Jodie Foster is the mother of 22-year-old Christopher “Kit” Bernard Foster, a child from her relationship with former partner Cydney Bernard. Although it is unclear when her children realized their mother’s fame, Charlie, Foster’s other son, followed in his mother’s footsteps and participated in theater throughout school.

Despite her children’s interest in the entertainment industry, Foster joked that they “have no interest in watching my movies with me.” She humorously mentioned that she would never show them the 1995 film “Nell,” in which she played a “wild child,” to avoid being teased by them.

However, Foster believes her children might be interested in watching the new season of “True Detective: Night Country,” not necessarily to support her, but because they are “really into” the series.
