The Kalashnikov Concern announced that it will significantly increase civilian firearms production in 2026, driven by strong demand in both domestic and international markets.

According to the company, contracts signed throughout 2025 exceeded projected sales targets and surpassed the results recorded in 2024.
Demand remains particularly high for smoothbore hunting shotguns, rifled carbines, and large-scale civilian replicas. Among the most sought-after models are the TR3 semi-automatic carbine, based on the AK-12, as well as the “Tigre” and “Saiga” lines, offered in different calibers and configurations.
According to the manufacturer, the continued growth in sales is a direct result of expansion into new export markets and the development of versions adapted to ammunition produced outside Russia. The company also notes that experience accumulated in real operational environments has contributed to technical improvements in civilian versions, making the products more reliable and competitive on the international market.
At the same time, the Kalashnikov design and technology center is working on the development of new models specifically tailored to the requirements of foreign customers, with a focus on ergonomics, ammunition compatibility, and regulatory requirements in different countries.
The company’s presence in the civilian segment dates back to 1946, when a department dedicated exclusively to non-military products was created at the then Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant. One of the first commercial successes was the 8.2 mm KO hunting carbine, derived from the famous Mosin rifle.
Eight decades later, Kalashnikov maintains a dominant position in the sector, accounting for more than 90% of civilian firearms production in Russia and currently manufacturing more than two dozen models intended for sport shooting and hunting, consolidating its presence as one of the world’s leading references in the segment.
