Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant , envisioned and created the Halo shoe concept and release as a way to honor Bryant’s birthday each year. The Halo concept will be an annual release that will honor and celebrate this special date.
According to @DailySNKRSStock, only 47,249 pairs of the Nike Kobe 8 Protro ‘Halo’ have been produced.
The Kobe 8 Protro maintains the iconic look but features new updates in design and performance innovation. One of the most notable design updates includes the embroidered Swoosh on the upper, paired with an embroidered Mamba logo on the tongue. In an update, designers replaced the Lunarlon midsole with Nike React foam, aiming for comfort and responsiveness, and to help create a more durable design. The team also updated the herringbone traction pattern for enhanced grip and performance.
The new Nike Kobe 8 Protro Halo was released on Wednesday, the same day as Kobe Bryant’s birthday.
