“I couldn’t believe they could be so mean and cruel to an innocent baby,” said Hilton, 42, to People on Tuesday.

“You can say whatever you want about me, but this is my little angel,” she continued. “And if anyone says anything to hurt him or hurt his feelings, I will always be there to protect him.”

The celebrity said she usually ignores the hateful messages she receives, but she can’t just sit and say nothing when her son is the target of attacks.

“Normally, I wouldn’t even dignify something like this with a response, but I was heartbroken that there are such cruel people in the world,” Hilton said.

“They are so miserable in their lives that they would talk about a child in such a way,” she said.

But Hilton also saw hope when she realized many of her fans are supporting her.

“I am so grateful to know that there are so many people in the world who love and support me,” she admitted. “Having them by my side means the world to me, and having people care for Phoenix in this way means a lot.”

Hilton added that many of her followers asked her not to pay attention to the rude comments.
