During an agenda linked to the 1st Battalion of the Mercian Regiment, the Prince of Wales met soldiers and their families, heard accounts from women in the Armed Forces, and observed close quarter battle training exercises.
Prince William paid a visit to the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment in Bulford, United Kingdom, in an engagement focused on the unit’s recent return from deployment in Estonia. The visit was shared by the official Prince and Princess of Wales social media account and also appears in the official British royal family court circular for March 26.
During the visit, William met with soldiers and their families, and also spoke with members of a women’s network within the unit about their experiences serving in the military. Images and descriptions published by the official account show the prince in direct contact with troops recently returned from duty on NATO’s eastern flank.
As colonel-in-chief of the regiment, William also observed training exercises, including a close quarter battle activity indoors. Records shared on social media and in British press coverage show the prince watching tactical demonstrations and interacting with military personnel during the visit in Bulford.

The visit also included the presentation of honours and internal recognitions, in a gesture aimed at highlighting the commitment and dedication of members of the Mercian Regiment after the recent operational cycle. William’s presence is part of his ongoing role with the British Armed Forces since assuming the honorary position of colonel-in-chief of the unit.
