China is experiencing floods caused by heavy rains in various parts of the country. Weather authorities said that the capital, Beijing, has recorded its highest rainfall in at least 140 years in recent days, as the remnants of Typhoon Doksuri flooded the region.
The record rainfall of Doksuri, now downgraded to a tropical storm, may not be the last. Typhoon Khanun, which hit Japan on Wednesday, is expected to head towards China later this week.

The powerful storm, with surface winds of up to 180 km/h (111 mph), could also hit Taiwan before it reaches China.
