Additionally, the Spanish Navy is considering acquiring more NH90 NFH units in an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) configuration, aiming to replace its aging fleet of SH-60B helicopters.

Incorporating the NH90 in the ASW configuration would represent a significant improvement in the Navy’s anti-submarine warfare capabilities, crucial for maritime defense and security operations.

As an interim measure, the Spanish Navy recently ordered 8 MH-60R helicopters, known for their advanced capabilities in ASW and search and rescue missions. This acquisition aims to fill the operational gap until the full integration and operationalization of the NH90.

The NH90 is a modern and multifunctional aircraft, designed to meet the demands of contemporary armed forces. With advanced technologies and latest-generation systems, the NH90 is capable of performing a wide range of missions, from naval transport to anti-submarine warfare operations, providing the Spanish Navy with a significant strategic advantage.
