The video in question shows a Yamaha MT-07 parked in a tourist area. Specifically, the action takes place in the heart of the city, at the Dublin docks.
A gang of youths is trying to steal a motorcycle with a hammer, while a passerby records them and tries to stop the theft, without much success. They even confront the citizen trying to prevent the assault.
One of the young men approaches the Yamaha with a hammer and strikes a few blows against the front lock of the bike. The alarm is already activated, but they seem not to care much. Meanwhile, the man tries to stop the action.
“Boys, look at me, stop!”, the man continuously shouted at the criminals, who did not stop their reckless action while threatening him with a knife. They break the lock, release the motorcycle’s handlebar lock with a kick and take it away.
The Irish police are already investigating the theft. Ireland is a country with a low number of stolen or burglarized motorcycles (less than 400 per year, according to police data). However, the attitude of the thieves is still concerning.
