Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky shared a new video showing the interrogation of a North Korean soldier captured by Ukrainian forces.

In the video, the visibly confused soldier claims he does not remember the moment he was captured. He states that he was injured and unable to move while his unit retreated, leaving him behind. According to his testimony, he remained alone for 3 to 5 days before being found by Ukrainian troops.

The soldier’s documents, issued in Russia, did not contain his real name and lacked a photograph, raising questions about his true identity and the context of his presence in the war.

Zelensky highlighted the situation in an official statement, stating:
“The world will know the full truth about how Russia uses these people, who grew up in a complete information vacuum, know absolutely nothing about Ukraine, and are used by Russia solely to continue and expand this war. Only Russia needs this war.”

Ukraine Proposes Delivery of North Korean Prisoners

Previously, the Ukrainian government proposed a diplomatic solution to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The offer included the delivery of captured North Korean prisoners if Pyongyang helped organize a prisoner-of-war exchange with Russia.

The video and Zelensky’s statements reinforce international criticism of Russia for using foreign soldiers in a conflict that, according to the Ukrainian president, is driven solely by Kremlin interests.
